NFTs in 2022

Just about a year and a half ago, the world was stunned to hear about digital art in the form of NFTs, fetching millions of dollars. We take a look at where NFTs are today - both the good and bad. And what avenues are there for digital graphics professionals in the NFT space?

Description

When it comes to new technology, having a neutral position is always advantageous: Be open to possibilities, but at the same time aware of shortcomings. So for our first NFT event the LA SIGGRAPH wanted to give the community a good overview of what's, a rapidly changing space.

Speakers from the digital graphics community with knowledge and experience in NFTs will talk about some of the different facets of the NFT landscape, providing a good overall introduction to those in the digital graphics field. A balanced look at both pros and cons, and what are some of the jobs in the field that might appeal to our digital graphics community. And a final discussion about the future of NFTs etc.

Like the any new technology, as time goes on NFTs will find it's "right place", ie: what it's best used for, while at the same time figuring out the pitfalls that currently exist. So whether you decide to move into NFTs in 2022, or not, there is no denying that knowledge about them will be invalueable.
